Just a quick reminder that NTGA VI is only a week and a half away. So if you haven't pre-registered you should go and do it right now!

NTGA has partnered with DFW Games (http://dfwgames.net) to bring competitive Halo to a larger audience in the Metroplex. Our first event will be at A-Kon 2010. Let me preference this news by saying that we are aware that A-Kon is the same weekend as MLG Columbus. (June 4-6). Since this is not regular season NTGA event, no points will be earned. NTGA VI is still are next seasonal event (June 19th, 2010). This is an exciting opportunity for NTGA to grow to new heights.  

We will be running a walk up FFA tournament on Friday June 4th (Kind of like the Gamebattles Arcade). On Saturday June 5th we will be running a 2v2 tournament. Both tournaments will be use the NTGA rules which you can view by clicking the rules link on the left side of the page. We are going to be allowing free play while tournaments are not going on, as well as free play late into the night Friday and Saturday. The Halo tournaments are sponsored by the Vibras Five One Gaming Headset (http://www.track-scan.com/2/xbox-360-51-ch-gaming-headset.html).

I (Shadow) will be part of a panel on gaming communities on Friday June 4th from 6:45 - 7:45 PM. The panel is located inside the downtown Dallas Westin Hotel, specifically in the Houston C Meeting Room. I hope everyone can come and participate in that.

I hope to see everyone at this event who isn't heading out to Ohio for MLG. Just like NTGA V we will have the MLG HD stream up on a projector, so you don't have to miss any action from Columbus.

Another LANouT has come and gone. LANouT Summer 2010 was a great event full of fun times, and great games. We had an awesome live stream up all weekend. The stream served as a teaser of what to expect from future NTGA events. I have uploaded the pictures from LANouT to the gallery.

Well the spring semester is over, so that means one thing; it's time to LANouT! LANouT Summer 2010 is happening today from 2ish till Sunday at 8pm (all times are CST). As always the event is at the Fallout Shelter. For eveyone's enjoyment I have embedded the live stream below.

I have received a lot of questions regarding the NTGA VI Gametypes. So here is what you need to know:

The 4v4 will use MLG v8, and the gametypes will be the same as MLG Columbus.

The FFA will continue to be Heritic.

So the decision we have to make is what maps do we want to use for the 2v2? Go to this post for a poll with all of the possible 2v2 maps for NTGA VI. You can pick your favorite 4 out of the 6. (Amp will only be played in the later full screen rounds)

Please vote, so we can weight the different maps appropriately for NTGA VI.

Thats right folks we have a date for NTGA VI; June 19, 2010. We will be back at the Embassy Suites in Grapevine, Tx. There shouldn't be any date conflicts this time, so I hope to see everyone out there.

Pre-Registration for NTGA VI is now open.

NTGA V was an event full of newness. Although we had less attendees than NTGA IV (Due to MLG Orlando) it was still a good event. Ask anyone who went to NTGA V and they will tell you just how awesome the new venue is. We now have the space to acomidate up to 4 stations comforablely. Honestly this is a huge step forward for NTGA, and the North Texas gaming community as a whole.  Due to the small turnout we were able to run the 2v2 as a round robin tournament instead of double elimination. Which gave the teams an opportunity for more games.  The point totals have been updated to reflect the results of NTGA V, and can be found on the forums. Thanks to everyone who came out. (Especially those that brought out equipment for us to use.)

NTGA V is quickly approaching. We are just about 72 hours out. So it is time for the normal Pre-event post.

1.) Event Info - All of the info pertaining to the event (the schedule, the venue info, gametypes, etc...) can be found by clicking the appropriate links to the left. Please do not post on the forums asking for any of this information.

 2.) Rule Changes - The only major rule change from NTGA IV is regarding tie-breakers. We will be following the same rules as MLG, for games that tie. In the event of a tie in a Team Slayer game, that map will be replayed with a time limit of 5 minutes. (This applies to the 2v2 and 4v4)

 3.) Live Stream - While we have the equipment now to live stream the events. But, we have no idea of the bandwidth available at the venue. Due to the fact that MLG Orlando is going on during NTGA V, we would receive low viewership on the stream anyways. Rest assured that NTGA VI will be live streamed.

 4.) MLG Orlando Coverage - I know that everyone will want to see what is happening live in Orlando, so we are proud to announce that we will have the MLG stream up and running at NTGA V. We are even taking the MLG stream to the next level, by purchasing the HD stream, for NTGA V. So now you can come to NTGA V and keep up with MLG Orlando.

 5.) Change - Please make an attempt to bring correct change to the event. It helps us out a ton.

 6.) Refreshments - Due to catering agreements we cannot sell refreshments of any kind at the event.

7.) Pre-Registration - Remember that Pre-Registration closes at 10 PM CST, so get registered if you haven’t already.
